Action planning provides a process, within an individual building, for engaging in systematic, continuous improvement of practice. The purpose of writing Action Plans is to help teachers and administrators identify and address issues and problems that negatively impact student achievement.

The tool is designed to help focus the work of improving teaching and learning. It is meant to be reviewed and revised on a monthly basis with the mathematics teachers and building administrator(s) or district supervisor (department chair, mathematics coordinator, or curriculum director).
